Biography
John Henry Smith (1848-1911) was a politician and ecclesiastical leader in Utah. He served as an apostle in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1880 to 1911.

Nicholas G. Smith letter to John Henry Smith, 1905 January 6
Materials include a copy of a letter to John Henry Smith from his son Nicholas G. Smith about John's testimony at the Smoot hearings at Washington D.C. In the letter, Nicholas thanks his father for standing up for his beliefs and mentions Winslow Farr Smith, his brother and Orson F. Whitney's eventual son-in-law. Dated January 6, 1905.
