Biographical History
John R. Halliday (1911-1987) was a music professor in Utah. He worked at Brigham Young University, and served as a mission president for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Italy.

He served a Latter-day Saint mission in Germany, 1931-1933; studied music at the State Academy of Music in Berlin, Germany, 1933-1934; and worked in the Department of Music at Brigham Young University, 1936-1938 and again beginning in 1942. Material was dictated by John R. Halliday in June 1971, and later transcribed.
