Reuben Miller letter
Photocopy of a handwritten and initialed letter addressed to Henry Sabey of Mt. Knickerbocker, Illinois, and dated 16 Nov. 1848. Miller writes concerning conditions of the Mormons at Council Bluffs, Iowa, what they have heard about the Salt Lake Valley of Utah, and describes the baptism of Oliver Cowdery, an early leader of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who had been cut off years earlier.

Collection includes glass negatives, lantern slides, metal plates, and a tintype of images related to the history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Includes images of Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, Native Americans, and other scenes.
John Whitmer letter
Handwritten and signed letter, dated 29 Aug. 1837, and addressed to the Mormon Church leaders, David Whitmer and Oliver Cowdery. Whitmer writes about the title to lands in Far West, Missouri. The sheet also includes a some miscellaneous notes and scribblings from 1862. Also included is a typescript of the item.
