Vernal Grant Olsen served in the US military during World War II.

Vernal Grant Olsen was drafted into the military during his last week of high school. He trained in Salt Lake City, Texas, Alabama, North Carolina, and Georgia. He was trained as a paratrooper. After training, he was sent to Italy, France, and England. After the war, he got married and worked in electricity and construction.
