Biographical History

Douglas Josiah Bell (1946-) worked as a US Army Intelligence Agent and as a Chief Warrant Officer.

Douglas Josiah Bell was born in American Fork, Utah in 1946. After graduating from high school, he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Netherlands and Belgium. When he got home, he married Caryl Williams. The Vietnam War was beginning, and he signed up to be a Dutch linguist and to be trained as an interrogator. He worked with NATO as a US Army Intelligence agent. He attended BYU and the University of Utah, where he earned his master's degree in Business Administration, and then received his Ph.D. from BYU in Higher Education, where he worked as a Full Clinical Professor. He was deployed to Kuwait and then Iraq in 2003, where he had much interaction with high-ranking Iraqi officers.
