Biographical History

Bryant Eugene Rees, was born June 5, 1912 in Scipio, Utah, to Thomas David Rees and Florence Thompson. He married Margaret Doris Schaaf on September 17, 1936 in Fresno, California and they later had three children. Bryant attended University of Utah in 1929, and graduated in 1934 with a master's degree in biological sciences. He recieved a Ph.D. from Stanford in biology then worked as a ranger-naturalist in Zion National Park. He then went on to work for the Boulder Dam Recreation area, as an entomologist with the Bureau of Entomology in Washington, D.C., and as a professor at Fresno State College, from which he retired in 1974. He served four and a half years in the United States Army, serving in the South Pacific and leaving as a major. Bryant passed away May 6, 1985, in Fresno, California.
