Biographical History
Lester J. Oyler (1929-1996) was a Korean War veteran and missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Lester J. Oyler was born September 30, 1929, in Loa, Utah to Ammon Oyler, Jr. and Annie Ernsten. He served in the Korean Conflict from 1950-53 as part of the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion, Harold Brown Post #97. He married DeOna Sorenson on July 23, 1951 in the Manti, Utah temple. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Oyler served a full time mission in the Tampa, Florida mission with his wife. They were serving in the Cove Fort mission at the time of his death. He died on September 7, 1996, in Provo, Utah and was buried in the Loa City Cemetery.
