Biography
Thomas Digges (approximately 1546-1595) was a noted mathematician who continued the interest of his father Leonard (d. 1571) in the application of mathematics to military science. He was appointed by the Earl of Leicester as Muster-Master-General to the English forces in the Netherlands, a position which he filled with great ability.
