Biographical History

Edgar Hague Calder (1893-1958) was a fruit farmer in Utah.

Edgar Hague Calder, known as Ted, was born August 31, 1893, to David George Calder and Sarah Elizabeth Hague in Salt Lake City, Utah Territory. He was the fifth of their seven children. He attended Brigham Young University and the University of Utah for a year each. Calder married Melba Vance on December 12, 1917, and the two had seven children together (Dorathy Valene, Edgar Vance, Robert Bruce, David Grant, Melba June, Thelma Mae, and Matilda Beth). After his father's death in 1926, he moved his wife and children to his family's fruit farm, where he ran both the farm and fruit truck, bringing fruit to small Utah towns. Calder passed away on August 28, 1958.
