Ethel Lucile Dimond Smith (1897-1986) was a former "Utah Mother of the Year" and wife to Calvin Schwartz Smith.

Ethel Lucile Dimond was born July 31, 1897, to Thomas Walter Dimond and Nora Bennion. She married Calvin Schwartz Smith on September 28, 1917. Smith was the son of Joseph F. Smith, president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Together they had thirteen children.

Lucile was awarded the "Utah Mother of the Year" award in 1962.

Ethel Lucile Dimond Smith died on August 15, 1986, in Torrance, California.

Scope and Contents

Contains photographs taken or collected by Smith. Includes photographs and postcards from Smith's missionary service in Germany as well as his service as chaplain in World War I. Also includes images of Hyrum Mack Smith's graveside, Smith at Carthage Jail with Sydney B. Sperry, and the Calvin Smith family with his mother, Mary Taylor Schwartz Smith. Includes a family scrapbook and some negatives from the C. R. Savage Studio. Dated approximately 1890-1956.
