Ambrose Young Owens (1829-1898) was the son of an early politician in Missouri history.

Ambrose Young Owens was born on February 28, 1829 in Platte, Missouri to parents Samuel Combs Owens and Frances Maria Alcock Young. His father was a Circuit Court Clerk in Jackson County Missouri as well as a part of the committee that ordered the Latter-day Saints to leave Jackson County. Ambrose Young Owens married Helen M. Calvert in Platte, Missouri on December 6, 1848.

Ambrose Young Owens died in Weston, Missouri on April 7, 1904.

Contains a subpoena signed by Samuel C. Owens as Jackson County, Missouri clerk. In the document, Owens ordered Jacob Gregg, Jackson County Sheriff, to bring David Burris before a judge to answer to charges made against in by Harmon G. Noland regarding debt on some land owned by Noland. Dated January 12, 1835. Also includes a picture of a painting of Owens painted by his son Ambrose Young Owens.
