Biographical History

Bertrand Kent Harrison (approximately 1935- ) is the son of Brigham Young University botany professor Bertrand Fereday Harrison, an employee of Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory, and a physics professor at Brigham Young University.

Bertrand Kent Harrison was born around 1935 at the Crane Maternity Home in Provo, Utah to Bertrand Fereday and Lorna Jensen Harrison. The eldest sibling of four children, including Linnaea Lindstrom, Harrison delivered copies of the Provo Daily Herald and the Salt Lake Tribune throughout Provo. For his undergraduate, he attended Brigham Young University and graduated as valedictorian with a Bachelor’s of Science in 1955. While at BYU, he married Janyce Maxfield on June 25, 1954. Harrison went on to receive a Master’s degree and PhD from Princeton. Upon graduation, he worked at Los Alamos Laboratory between 1959-1964. He was eventually hired as a Physics professor at BYU. He has authored fifty papers ranging from relativity and mathematical physics, alongside a textbook on physical science and various conference addresses on five continents.
