Andrew Jackson Lamoureux (1850-1928) was a reference librarian at Cornell University.
Andrew Jackson Lamoureux was born on March 20, 1850 in Michigan. Andrew attended Cornell University in 1874, but was unable to graduate due to poor health. After leaving college, Andrew enaged in newspaper work and went to work in Rio de Janeiro as the editor of "The British and American Mail." In 1887, Andrew married Sarah Cross, and together they had four children--Mabel, Vincent, Branner, Emily Elizabeth, and Clarence Eugene. In 1906, Andrew became a reference librarian in the College of Agriculture at Cornell University. In 1913, Andrew became interested in family history, and began correspondence with every Lamoreaux. Andrew took this correspondence and published the pamphlet called "The Lamoreaux Record." Andrew Jackson Lamoureux passed away on February 25, 1928.
