Biographical History

Loren C. Bryner (1904-1986) was a professor of chemistry at Brigham Young University.

Loren Conrad Bryner was born January 2, 1904, in Price, Utah to Ella and Enoch Bryner. Loren graduated high school in 1924 and graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in chemistry in 1928. In 1930, he received one of the first awarded master's degrees in chemistry from Brigham Young University. Loren married Murine Fillmore in 1930 and they had three children. He received his Ph.D. from Iowa State University in 1934 and began teaching chemistry at BYU in 1935. He served as chair of the Department of Chemistry from 1964 to 1966. Loren died February 18, 1986, in Orem, Utah.
