Biographical History

Isaac Elmer Brockbank (1882-1954) was a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, attorney and prominent church and civic worker in Utah.

Isaac Elmer Brockbank was born on October 17, 1882 to Joshua and Sarah Ann Traxon Jex Brockbank in Spanish Fork, Utah. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Germany. He married Zoe Mae Brimhall, and after her death in 1913, he married Elise Vernessa Booth on September 1, 1916. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor's degree in 1915, later earning both his M.A. and LLb. degrees from the University of Utah and his J.D. degree at the University of Chicago.

Brockbank was director and secretary of Jex Lumber Company, Spanish Fork and the Intermountain Finance and Thrift Company. He was also president of the Provo Chamber of Commerce and the Provo Rotary Club, chairman of the Utah County Red Cross organization, county chairman of the Republican Party, and served two terms as Utah County attorney. He actively practiced law.

Brockbank was also active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with responsibilities including president of the Utah Stake Young Men's Mutual Improvement Association (YMMIA) and a member of the Utah Stake High Council.

Brockbank passed away on August 16, 1954 in Provo, Utah.
