Biographical History

Hannah Warner Bradish (1752-1828) was the mother of Luther Bradish, prominent New York lawyer and politician, and the wife of John Bradish Jr., Colonel in the United States Army.

Hannah Warner Bradish was born on October 7, 1752, in Hartwick, Massachusetts, to parents Joseph Warner and Mary Hubbard. She married John Bradish Jr. in approximately 1772 and together they had eight children, including Luther Bradish.

Hannah Warner Bradish died in 1828 in Palmyra, New York.

Materials include two letters, written in 1803, from Luther Bradish to his parents, Colonel John Bradish and Hannah Warner Bradish. The letters were written while Luther was a student at William's College and they contain insights about maturing into a man, details about and experiences at college, and comments and questions about his family's well-being. Dated January 7, 1803 and June 28, 1803.
