Scope and Contents Lyndon W. Cook, a student of LDS Church history and an instructor in history at UVSC, worked for several years gathering materials for what he anticipated would be a complete edition of the papers of Thomas L. Kane (1822-1883). Cook abandoned the project in 1985 and gave his research collection to the BYU Library. Research materials compiled by Cook in 1977. They include photocopies of miscellaneous court records, account books, maps, marriage records, correspondence, and land records of Jackson, Missouri. The collection relates largely to the early life and career Parley P. Pratt, a Mormon apostle.
