Biographical History

Rena Tait (1920-2004) was a musician and businesswoman in Utah.

Rena Chamberlain was born March 7, 1920 in Orderville, Utah to Hans Chamberlain and Mercy Blackburn. She was raised in Orderville, and helped in her family's store growing up. She married Clyde Hodges Tait on August 9, 1938 in Kanab, Utah, and followed him to Weatherford, Texas during his military service during World War II. They later returned to Orderville, where they purchased the Chamberlain's Store, changing its name to Clyde's Market. Rena Tait operated the store until 1989, as well as selling Avon products in the community. Tait had five children whom they raised in Orderville. She was also involved in community organizations, serving as the director of the Miss Kane County Pageant and performing in musical groups. Tait died on September 24, 2004 in St. George, Utah.
