Biographical History

Jense Christian Larsen Breinholt (1841-1914) was a pioneer and missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Jens Christian Larsen Breinholt was born September 8, 1841 in Vinding, Denmark. He was converted to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints while working for a family who were members of the Church in Denmark and immigrated to Utah, locating in Redmond, Sevier County. Breinholt served a two-year mission to Denmark. He was imprisoned for polygamy in 1889 and eventually immigrated to Juarez, Mexico to flee further persecution for the same offense. However, civil unrest eventually forced him and his family to re-immigrate to Utah, where they returned to their former home of Redmond. He died in Redmond on November 5, 1914. Jens was a father-in-law to Roda Cowley Breinholt (1896–1962), a great-granddaughter of Charles Cowley.
