Scope and Contents

Shepherd's journal chronicles his missionary service in England as well as his migration to Sanpete County, Utah. Allred, who married Shepherd's daughter Ellen, chronicles his life in Spring City, Utah and his mission to Hawaii.

Joseph Shepherd and Sanford Allred journals, 1847-1897 contains two archival series -- Series 1: Joseph Shepherd journal, 1847-1863 -- Series 2: Sanford Allred journal, 1866-1897.
