(born on August 14, 1887 and grew up in Bern, Idaho; 1905, when he was 17, he was asked by the First Presidency to take a missionary course at the Fielding Academy in Paris, Idaho; aftewards called to a mission in Switzerland and Germany where he served from 1906 to 1909.)
