Valera Luella Wakefield Washburn (born 1877; died 1963) was the wife of Jesse Alvin Washburn and a wife and mother in Utah.

Valera (called Luella) was born June 15, 1877 in Fountain Green, Utah. Her parents' were Thomas Garlic adn Maria Jane Johnson Wakefield. In 1883, they moved to Huntington. Luella grew up working as a herder, a post office clerk, and finally a teacher. She married Jesse A. Washburn in 1896 when she was 19. She gave birth to eleven children, only one of whom died in infancy. The Washburns homesteaded in Duchesne County, owned a millinery shop, taught, and farmed. Luella's husband died on March 14, 1951, after which she moved to Salt Lake to be closer to her family. She was named Mother of the Year in 1953 at age 75. She passed away on December 13, 1963 of heart problems, and was buried in Huntington.
