Biographical History

A. E. Cannon (1956-) is an author in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Ann Edwards was born to parents Patti Louise Covey and LaVell Edwards in Salt Lake City, Utah on March 30, 1956. She attended Brigham Young University, where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in English Teaching in 1978. In 1985, she graduated with a master's degree in English, also from Brigham Young University. A. E. married Kenneth L. Cannon, with whom she attended university, and they have five children together. A. E. Cannon has published fiction and nonfiction in a variety of regional and national magazines. She has also authored award-winning books for young readers from preschoolers to young adults. Cannon has taught creative writing and children’s literature at Westminster College and Brigham Young University. She previously wrote a column for the Deseret News but now writes for the Salt Lake Tribune. Cannon also leads discussions sponsored by the Utah Humanities Council’s Public Square program. Occasionally, Cannon teaches creative writing classes and works as a bookseller at King's English Bookshop in Salt Lake City. Cannon currently resides in Salt Lake City with her husband.
