Handwritten and signed letters between Clay and William Petters. On Aug. 24, 1845 Pettes wrote to Clay apologizing for the rude conduct of a driver in Pettes' employment. Clay responded in a letter dated Aug. 27, 1845 stating that the matter was of little importance and requesting that the driver not be discharged over the incident.

Handwritten and signed letter of introduction dated September 4, 1834. He introduces Thomas Miller as being invited to fill a professor's chair at a college in Missouri and gives him a favorable recommendation.

Handwritten and signed letter, dated Dec. 26, 1827, and addressed to Benjamin Urner. Clay writes about a conversation with a "Mr. Test" in the fall of 1824 in which he expressed his preference for "Mr. Adams" over Andrew Jackson.
