Biography
Abbie Kimball Kemp (1905-2000) was an amateur painter and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Abbie Kimball Kemp was born in Idaho to Joseph Ramon Kimball and Abbie Hannah Rice. She was the last of eight children. Her parents moved to San Diego when she was a teenager. During World War II, Abbie helped build B-24s at Convair. She married Omer Kemp on April 16, 1923, in San Diego, California. Together they had three children. Omer and Abbie served a two-year mission to Indigenous American tribes for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After the death of her husband in 1987, Abbie married Vern Jack Labrum in San Diego, California. Abbie died on January 22, 2000, in St. George, Utah.

Abbie Hannah Rice Kimball papers
Contains photocopies of a few pages of Abbie Hannah Rice Kimball's diary, a complete typescript of Kimball's diary copied by her daughter, Abbie Kimball Kemp, in the 1960's, a geneological chart, and a few photographs of the Kimball family. Along with these photocopies, the collection likewise contains a selection of excerpts from Kimball's diary made by Elaine Gwilliam Jeffries.
