Biographical History

Dee F. Andersen (1931-2014) was vice president of administration at Brigham Young University from 1984 to 1994.

Dee F. Andersen was born April 9, 1931 in Ogden, Utah to parents Floyd C. Andersen and Lola Rose Andersen. He was raised in Brigham City, Utah, and there, he met his future wife Frances Nicholas. They married on January 18, 1951 and together they had seven children. Andersen majored in accounting at Utah State University, graduating in 1953, and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Once released from military service, he began a career in business and accounting, and worked as controller and administrative vice president of the University of Utah. He went on to become Associate Comissioner of Education for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Education System, and then administrative vice president at Brigham Young University. He also served in various positions within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints First Presidency and Presiding Bishopric during his lifetime. Andersen passed away on June 27, 2014 in Orem, Utah.
