Biographical History

Katheryn H. Wahlin (1861-1929) was a music teacher and actress in Utah.

Katheryn H. Wahlin was born October 6, 1861, in Springville, Utah. She studied music and speech at Brigham Young Academy and became an actress in a traveling troupe and music teacher in Springville, Utah. Katheryn served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Los Angeles, California, and was a member of the Tabernacle Choir. She married Nicolas Harmon Groesbeck July 21, 1882 in Salt Lake City as his third wife, and they had four children. They divorced after the LDS church ended the practice of polygamy. On September 7, 1901, Katheryn married Mathias Erickson Wahlin, with whom she had two children. She passed away October 28, 1929, in Provo, Utah.
