Biographical History

Kiefer B. Sauls (1896-1980) was a university administrator in Utah. He served as treasurer and an assistant to the president of Brigham Young University between 1921 and 1971.

Kiefer Branham Sauls was born on August 14, 1896 in Grays, South Carolina, to John Wilson Sauls and Mary Ann Terry. They relocated to Utah in his youth and settled in northern Utah. In 1920 he graduated from Utah State University, and then came to Brigham Young University to work as secretary to university president Franklin S. Harris. In 1932 he married Elizabeth Hoagland Cannon, and they had one daughter.

Sauls remained at Brigham Young University throughout his career, serving as the university purchasing agent, treasurer, and secretary to the Board of Trustees. He was also active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in various local callings.

He passed away on March 28, 1980 in Provo, Utah.
