Alexander Ross Holmes was the father of Harold Harper Holmes.

Alexander was born on December 4, 1879, in Alvaston, Derbyshire, England. He married Elizabeth Olive Harper on March 22, 1911, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Alexander died on April 20, 1965, in Murray, Utah.
