Biography

Elizabeth Baum Bean (1834-1916) was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Relief Society president and mother.

Elizabeth Baum Bean was born January 27, 1834 to Agnes Nancy Harris and Jacob Baum in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. As a child, her family converted to the Church and headed west in 1847. Elizabeth drove two yoke of oxen to Salt Lake City. She married George Washington Bean in Provo, Utah on January 6, 1853 in Provo, Utah, and they had ten children. She was the Relief Society president in Sevier for over twenty years. Elizabeth died on May 6, 1916 in Ephraim, Utah.
