Biography

Rulon Samuel Biddulph was born in Hooper, Utah, on March 25, 1904, to Nellie Marie Quibell and Samuel Biddulph. He studied physics at Brigham Young University before serving in the German-Austrian Mission from June 1926 to January 1928. After returning home, he married Helen Romney in the Salt Lake City Temple on June 29, 1931, and they moved to New York, where he worked in the Bell Telephone Laboratories acoustic research department. He continued to work in acoustic research. He and Helen had 4 children. He died September 28, 1993, in Mendham, New Jersey.

Helen Romney was born in Colonia Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, on October 10, 1907, to Frances Turley and Miles Archibald Romney. She studied Speech at Brigham Young University and later received a Master's degree in English at Columbia University. She performed in community theaters as a child and later taught high school English and drama. She died November 14, 1990, in Phoenix, Arizona.
