Biographical History

The Heder family began with the marriage of John William Heder (1856-1940) and Anna Jorgene Cristina Madsen (1864-1955) on May 22, 1879. Together they had nine children. John was from Uppegorden, Sweden, and Anna was from Veilby Aarhuus, Denmark. John's family immigrated to the United States in 1863 in order to travel west with the Saints. Ten years later, in 1873 Anna's family left Denmark and immigrated to the United States also to live in Utah. It was in Utah where Anna and John met, married, and started their family. After years of service in the Church and their local communities John died on November 6, 1940 in Mesa, Arizona, and Anna died on June 9, 1955, in Mesa, Arizona.
