Russell (Family : Russell, Isaac, 1807-1844)
Biographical History
The Russell family were early converts to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from Canada.
Isaac Russell (1807-1844) had immigrated from England to Canada in 1817, settling near Toronto. He married Mary Walton (1811-1864) in 1829. They had six children together. In 1836 the family joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and moved to Kirtland, Ohio, and later to Far West, Missouri. In 1839 the family was excommunicated from the Church, though they later joined the Saints in Utah.
