Collection includes three handwritten diaries kept by Lucy Mack Smith Carter. She writes about her daily life, her church activities, and family responsibilities, dated 1913 to 1914. Also includes photographs and negatives of Lucy Mack Smith Carter's family and her extended Smith relatives, mainly in California and Utah, dated 1868 to 1974.

Photocopies of a handwritten last will and testament of Susan Smith and documents relating to her estate. Also included are photocopies of materials relating to the estate of Samuel Smith. These persons were children of Asael Smith (1744-1830), the paternal grandfather of the first president of the Mormon Church, Joseph Smith (1801-1844).

Handwritten and printed legal instruments relating to Emma Hale Smith (1804-1879), wife of the Mormon Prophet, Joseph Smith (1805-1844). One of the items deals with the payment of taxes owed on certain properties in the county. The other item is a statement of guardianship and real estate inheritances relating to the children of Emma Smith and signed by her.
