Contains financial papers and materials of both J. M. Boutwell himself as well as his family and mining companies he consulted with. Includes checkbooks and stubs, stock notes, stock dividend records, bank statements, bills and receipts, other stock information, and taxes. Some small amout of financial materials are mixed in with other series, but these are those that seem to have been organized and kept separate. ca. 1885-1969

Contains papers and materials relating to J. M. Boutwell's career as a geologist from 1900 to 1945. Includes many mining maps and reports in different regions in Arizona (Bisbee), Utah (Bingham), Mexico (Cananea), and Peru (Cerro de Pasco). Also inludes business and professional correspondence, profesional affiliations, and reports and surveys, many dealing with the United States Geological Survey, which he worked for from 1900 to 1908.

Letter to Wyer, Librarian of the Denver Public Library, which concerns the various repositories where Jackson's photographic collections were preserved and from which copies could be solicited. The repositories were: The Colorado Historical Society; the Hayden series found in the U.S. Geological Survey; and the Ohio Art Company of Bryan, Ohio.
