Paul IV letter to Philip II
Letter from Pope Paul IV to Philip II to maintain his positions about the refusal of the abdication of Charles V, Philip's father. Also discusses that the papal authority has been discussed too much and obedience of Catholic States is needed. Dated 1555.

Handwritten letter on velum. Philip II states that Henry IV of France is Catholic again because of Henry's intervention in the religious wars in France. Philip II stresses the importance of a Catholic France and Europe that can grow under the protective wing of the Church. The item is unclearly dated and addressed.
Philip II letter
Handwritten letter on parchment addressed to Philip's court, family, and others which announces the death of his wife Mary I of England. Philip II expresses his grief and explains that Mary would have desired England to be Catholic. He also states that he is the most qualified person to lead England back to Catholicism.
Retraite sur les beatitudes et les dons du Saint Esprit
Bound carbon copy of a typed document in French. This consists of sermons on the nature of God, gifts of the Holy Spirit, the Beatitudes, and the practical issues of monks living in harmony with Catholic teachings. These were given to Benedictine monks on retreat.
Hans Rost articles and letters received
Two newspaper articles published in 1949 and a booklet entitled "Der Bamburger Reiter: deutsches Symbol," both by Rost. Also included are two letters received by Rost and two sections of rough drafts of articles or essays. Dr. Rost wrote in defense of the Catholic Church in the political climate of Germany.
Sermons for mass in Nimes, France
Bound book of sermons written by the bishop of Nimes, France from 1906 to 1907. These homilies were given at celebrations and Catholic masses. They contain moral lectures, explanations of Catholic Church doctrines, and presentations of liturgy. These sermons were written in French with some parts in Latin. They are meticulous and very descriptive. Some newspaper clippings in Latin can be found throughout the book.
Sfondrati family letters
Contains handwritten letters on paper, many of which are partially or entirely in code. The letters are written to Pope Gregory XIV and his brother, Paolo Sfondrati, and relate to the family's political and Catholic Church relationships in Italy and Spain.
Sfondrati family papers
Contains handwritten documents on parchment related to members of the Sfondrati family. These materials concern personal as well as political and Church matters in Cremona and Mantua, Italy, and other parts of the region.
Sister Mary Raphael scrapbook and poems
Scrapbook with handwritten poems. The item contains pictures cut out of magazines which depict Catholic Saints and other religious scenes. The poems relate to Catholic devotion and religious service. The dates of the compilation are uncertain. The pictures from magazines have copyrights around the turn of the twentieth century.
