Manhattan 2nd Ward (approximately 1964-)
Biography
The Manhattan 2nd Ward was established from the previous Manhattan Ward in approximately 1964 due to membership of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Manhattan area doubling post World's Fair. The original Manhattan Branch was organized as early as 1842 to accommodate those who were passing through New York City on their way west with the other members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
