Administrative History

The Ski Team (approximately 1961-1995) was an extramural competition alpine skiing team at Brigham Young University.

The Brigham Young University Ski Team, also known as the Alpine Ski Team and the BYU Ski Team, was established in the early 1960s. The group was closely associated with campus social units such as the Samuel Hall Society and the Sportsmen. The team participated in national competitions, though it at times struggled due to non-participation in Sunday events. The program also supported an invitational ski meet at Sundance Ski Resort in the 1980s. During the late 1990s, the team was discontinued as an official university program, and transitioned to a club sport.
