Administrative History

The Wylie Permanent Camping Co. operated as a guided touring business with stationary camping sites in the Yellowstone National Park from 1905-1916.

The Wylie Permanent Camping Company or the "Wylie Way" operated 6 camping sites, 2 lunch stations and transportation facilities for moving their guests from camp site to camp site. In 1916, the Wylie Camping Company merged with the Shaw and Powell Camping Company to form the Yellowstone Park Camping Company.

Scope and Contents Contains 119 original black and white, gelatin silver photographs. Another 21 scanned photographs from eBay are included, although the originals are not in the collection. All these photographs are from an unknown source. These photographs were taken by tourists to Yellowstone National Park while traveling with the Wylie Permanent Camping Company.
