Administrative History

The La Reine Mining Company (1898-1904) was a mining company located on Godiva Mountain in Juab County, Utah.

The company operated out of the La Reine mine, which produced high-quality silver and lead ores and was located close to the Humbug mining claim. The mine was formed and incorporated under managers Albert S. Day and Porter J. Conway, with George Schmidt serving as its first superintendent. In 1899, the company faced a lawsuit from the Bullion-Beck Tunnel company over ownership of the Mahogany lode. The case was dismissed later that year. In 1904, mine prospector Jesse Knight gained control of the stock of the La Reine Mining Company and was made president. Later that year, the company consolidated resources with the Bullion-Beck Tunnel Company to form the Beck Tunnel Consolidated Mining Company.
