Biography

The Student Service Association (est. 1988) is a service-based organization at Brigham Young University.

The Student Service Association (BYUSA) was established in March 1988, replacing the earlier Associated Students of Brigham Young University. BYUSA does not act as a legislative body for students, but instead aims to provide service to students and the larger university community. It is responsible for organizing campus events such as Homecoming, and administers campus-based clubs. The organization provides leadership opportunities for student officers, and coordinates the university's Student Advisory Committee.

BYUSA is led by a presidency, with six vice presidents over the Student Advisory Council, involvement, communications, activities, Honor Code, and clubs. Presidents of the association have included Mark Crockett (1988-1989), Jeff Singer (1989-1990), Brett Blake (1990-1991), Amy Baird Miner (1991-1992), Stephen Jason Hall (1992-1993), Mike Lee (1993-1994), Matt Cowley (1994-1995), Wesley McDougal (1995-1996), Kristian Watford (1996-1997), Dallin M.
