Administrative History

One of the predecessors, joining with the Timpanogos District Council, of the Utah National Parks Council. Established in 1924, it joined with the Timpanogos Council in 1931 to form the Timpanogos District Council, then merged with the Bryce Canyon Council to form the Utah National Parks Council in 1936.

Abstract Utah has one of the longest-running Scouting legacies in the country. The first Boy Scout Troop in the state got its start in Logan, Utah in 1910. The Utah County Council was organized February 22, 1921, and in 1922 it changed its name to the Timpanogos District Council. In 1931 the council merged with the Zion National Park Council, and the name was shortened to the Timpanogos Council.
