Biography

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Wightites) was a church in the Latter Day Saint movement founded by Lyman Wight.

Lyman Whight was an apostle of the original Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When Joseph Smith died, Whight took a group of latter-day saints to Texas, where they established a colony. After his own short-lived presidency of his followers, Wight later recognized Joseph Smith III as the prophet. After Wight's death, most of his followers became memebers of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
