BYU organizational history project, via WWW, Nov. 13, 2013: Department of Industrial Education (est. 1959; previously part of Department of Industrial Arts and Drawing; provided baccalaureate programs for Industrial Arts and Technical Education teachers, master's degree for master teacher certification as well as for coordinators, administrators, and supervisors in industrial and technical education; courses included that of Woodwork Fundamentals, Graphic Arts, and Metal Crafts and Lapidary; split in 1966 with emergence of Department of Industrial Technology; part of General College (1959-1966), College of Industrial and Technical Education (1966-1973), College of Engineering Sciences and Technology (1973-1984), College of Engineering and Technology (1984-1993); department chairs included Edwin C. Hinckley (1966-1972), William E. McKell (1972-1973), Garth A. Hill (1984-1993); renamed Department of Technology Education and Construction Management, 1993)
