Biography

The Arkansas and Texas Land Company was a property company dealing with the territories now known as Arkansas and Texas.

The Arkansas and Texas Land Company was established in the first part of the 19th century. It is notable for its involvement with Texas land speculator John Charles Beales. Beales' first involvement with the company was in 1831, when he transferred to them interests belonging to his wife and stepdaughter. In 1833, by which time the company was known as the New Arkansas and Texas Land Company, Beales sold them half his interest in the land he owned with José Manuel Royuela.
