Administrative History

The Department of Housing and Home Management (1960-1970) was a department in the College of Family Living at Brigham Young University.

The Department of Housing and Home Management was formed when the Department of Housing and Design and the Department of Economics and Management of the Home were combined. Stephen Stanford (1960-1964) and Jenniev Poulson (1964-1970) served as chairmen.

The functions of the Department of Housing and Home Management included increasing the knowledge and appreciation of the impact of a home on the family as well as effective caring of a home in order to more fully meet the needs and wants of the family. Courses included Style Developments in Family Housing, Family Finance, and Interior Decoration.
