Administrative History
The Administrative Council (1958-1971) advises the University President.
Ernest L. Wilkinson organized the Administrative Council in September of 1958 under the permission of the Board of Trustees. Until 1964, during Earl C. Crockett's presidency, the Administrative Council performed dual roles of advising the President on the University as well as the Unified Church School System, but Crockett instituted a separate council to administer to the Unified Church School System. The Administrative Council continued to operate until 1971, when Dallin H. Oaks was made President of the University.
