Biography
The United States National Park Service (est. 1916) is a government entity overseeing national parks and monuments in the United States.
The National Park Service was established in 1916 to oversee the preservation of areas designated as national parks by the United States government. By 1920, there were one million annual visits to national parks. As of 2000, there were 286 million annual visits. Since its establishment, the National Park Service has recognized several more national parks (including a national seashore, Cape Hatteras). It has also overseen the erection of several national monuments.

This is a Xerox copy of the original manuscript, Reformers and Humanitarians, prepared by historians of the National Park Service. The original manuscript is filed and secured in the NPS. During the "Nixon Interregnum" questions as to the theme of this work were raised and because of scant budgets and bickering among elements in the Service, a decision was made not to publish the book.
