Administrative History

The College of Family, Home, and Social Sciences (1981- ) is an academic college at Brigham Young University. The college is responsible for administering departments and institutes in the areas of social sciences and family life.

The College of Family, Home, and Social Sciences was established in 1981 in a merger of the College of Family Life with the College of Social Sciences. The college is responsible for administering associated academic departments and research institutes. College deans have included Martin B. Hickman (1981-1986), Stan L. Albrecht (1986-1989), Donovan E. Fleming (1989-1993), Clayne L. Pope (1993-2001), David B. Magleby (2001-2011), and Benjamin M. Ogles (2011-2021), and Laura Padilla-Walker (2021-).
