Administrative History

The Deseret Sunday School Union (1872-1971) was an auxiliary program of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that provided Sunday religious instruction to members of the Church.

The Deseret Sunday School Union was established in 1872 in a renaming of the earlier Parent Sunday School Union. The organization provided Sunday religious instruction in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, as well as support services such as curriculum development, teacher training, and library services. The Deseret Sunday School Union was renamed the Sunday School during a reorganization of Church auxiliaries in 1971.
